Livonia District Competition

The Team attended the Livonia District Competition on April 1 and 2, at Livonia Churchill High School in Livonia, Michigan. We, once again, made a valiant effort, and won 6/12 games after today overall (12 pts). We were the second to be picked for the #3 alliance, earning us 3 points. Reaching the semi-finals and being 2nd picked team on the alliance earned us 8 points. One of our mentors, Mr. Bill Haley, helped out pit neighbors "get their virtually dead robot a 'new life,'" helping us earn the Gracious Professionalism Award (2 pts.). This should earn us 25 points for the Livonia Competition, giving us a total of 50 points overall, ranking us around 50th in the state, which SHOULD qualify us for states. We'll let you know on Monday, when the cutoff is posted. Until then!

Detroit District Competition

On March 18-19, at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, we, FIRST Robotics Team 818, earned 25 competition points, putting us 97/178 in the State of Michigan. We made it to the quarter-finals and were defeated in our second match. We put up a valiant fight, and we should each be proud of our performance today. Our autonomous code was not functional at the Detroit Districts. However, we fought our way to the quarter-finals without it. All in all, the day was fun and well-played!
